As a coach and a teacher, I am regularly taking coaching courses, attending seminars and participating in professional development and continuing education related to teaching and coaching. I was exposed to John O'Sullivan and the Changing the Game Progect in 2012, and he has now become a regular resourse for my teaching and coaching career. He is the author of the #1 bestselling books Changing the Game: The Parents Guide to Raising Happy, High Performing Athletes, and Giving Youth Sports Back to our Kids and Is it Wise to Specialize? John is also a regular contributor for SoccerWire.com, and his writing has been featured in many publications including The Huffington Post and Soccer America. John is an internationally known speaker for coaches, parents and youth sports organizations, and has spoken for TEDx, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, US Lacrosse, USA Football, and at numerous other events throughout the US, Canada, Asia and Europe.
I have taken some of his courses and I am sure I will continue to access his wealth of knowledge and expertise on the subject of youth sports. The Changing The Game Project has the lofty goal of giving youth sport back to the kids, and making sure kids enjoy a lifetime of physical fitness and emjoyment of sport regardless of age, playing level or ability. His work has been a refreshing look at the youth sports world and has influenced the coaching philosophy within the San Gabriel Valley Seals. As a partner of the SGV Seals, all our families have access to the course for parents, Respect The Kids, Respect The Game. I strongly encourage all SGV Seals parents take this course to better understand your role in the development of your child athlete.
